Sean Frazer announced as Canadas new Immigration Minister

Sean Fraser has been named as Canada’s new Minister of Immigration. A former lawyer from Nova Scotia, 37 year old Fraser has replaced Marco Mendicino as a member of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s newly appointed cabinet.
The Honorable Sean Fraser, a member of the Liberal Party, was first elected to the House of Commons in 2015, where he represents the riding of Central Nova. He is married to his wife Sarah, and together they have two children, Molly and Jack.
His previous roles include Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Environment and Climate Change, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Finance and to the Minister of Middle Class Prosperity and Associate Minister of Finance, and Parliamentary Secretary to the Deputy Prime Minister, which he did up until being appointed as Minister for Immigration.
The Canadian Immigrations Levels Plan 2022-2024 is set to be released in March 2022, outlining the government’s plans to welcome over 400,000 new immigrants each year.
